Why is there a $5 fee to vote in the WZC election?

The $5 fee is collected by the ZFA to help cover the cost of running a secure, independent, and professionally managed election platform — consistent with international standards used in countries like the United States and United Kingdom. It ensures that the election is credible, transparent, and protected from fraud.

This fee, often referred to as the "Zionist Shekel," has long been part of the WZC election process across the global Zionist movement. It also serves an important integrity function by limiting any single payment method to a maximum of three voters.

Every dollar the ZFA puts into the election is a dollar we can’t use for programs that support Israel engagement, youth leadership, and community advocacy. The $5 contribution helps preserve the integrity of the process while safeguarding our broader communal priorities.
